چکیده

The paper analyzes the properties of cores with differential information, as economies converge to complete information. Two core concepts are investigated: the private core, in which agents’ net trades are measurable with respect to agents’ private information, and the incentive compatible core, in which coalitions of agents are restricted to incentive compatible allocations. ∗We wish to thank an anonymous referee for very helpful comments. Existence of Approximate Equilibria and Cores

IT IS WELL KNOWN that for a finite exchange economy, where preferences are not assumed to be convex, there may be no price equilibrium or even the core may be empty. For this reason it was proposed to enlarge the set of price equilibria and the core by introducing the concepts of "approximate equilibrium" and "approximate core." The existence of approximate equilibria for exchange economies, wh...

Equilibria and incentives in private information economies

This paper considers three solution concepts in a large private information economy, namely, Walrasian expectations equilibrium, private core, and insurance equilibrium. It shows that these three concepts coincide with each other when the agents are informationally negligible in such an economy. In contrast to the finite-agent setting, one can construct a large private information economy in wh...

The Core of Economies with Asymmetric Information: An Axiomatic Approach

We propose two generalizations of the Davis and Maschler (1965) reduced game property to economies with asymmetric information and apply them in the characterization of two solution concepts. One is Wilson's (1978) Coarse Core and the other is a subsolution of it which we call the Coarse+ Core.

Information Transmission and Core Convergence in Quasilinear Economies ∗

We study core convergence in interim quasilinear economies with asymmetric information, concentrating on core notions in which information is transmitted endogenously within coalitions and the incentive constraints are relevant. Specifically, we shall focus on the credible core and randomized mediated core concepts. We consider independent replicas of the basic economy: independent copies of th...
